Practices
The development of Insight Meditation in the West has unfortunately marginalized ethical practice. The primary emphasis has been on meditation (with some emphasis on wisdom). We even call many of our Buddhist centers “meditation centers.”
Below we list Buddhist ethical practices not commonly taught in Western Buddhist centers.
Wise Speech
The primary way we interact with others is through speech. Hence, if we can develop wise, helpful speech, we can interact with others in an ethical way.
